Yoga For Peace

We are excited to present an incredible weekend of yoga at this years festival featuring internationally renowned yoga teachers and musicians. The classes will take place inside the Unity Hall, a wonderful indoor facility with plenty of room to stretch. Each class will be accompanied by live music and will feature well known artists from the yoga community, including a few surprise guests from the festival main stage. The highlight of the "yoga for peace" weekend will be the "prayer for peace" class on Saturday (2pm to 4pm). Backed by an all-star cast of musicians, this class will culminate with a globally synchronized "prayer for peace" uniting with over 350 cities in 65 countries across the world. So pack your yoga mat and join us for the a wonderful weekend of yoga.

3 pm to 4:30 pm - Off The Mat into the World “Play.Love.Serve” Class w/ Kerri Kelly and Suzanne Sterling

In this transformational workshop, we journey through an embodied and soulful yoga practice that awakens the flow of intention. Each asana and breath invites us to dive deep into the flames of passion and expand our ability to turn that purpose into action. Take your yoga to the next level: embody your purpose and live it now!

10 am to 11:30 am - "Morning Cup of Vinyasa with Pete Guinosso. Live music with Jesse Hendricks and Craig Kohland

The best part of waking up is a shot of Vinyasa in your cup! Skip the “go-juice” jitters and, instead, let your breath percolate throughout your entire body in this invigorating Vinyasa flow class. Spinal twists, hip openers and heart opening backbends will have you leaving class feeling buzzed out on your asanas and ready for another day of Earthdance festivities. 1.5 hours, all levels welcome.

12 noon to 1:30 pm - Tantra Vinyasa: Sensual Power - The Path to Love with Anne Marie Kramer and live music by Rara Avis

TAN = To Stretch TRA = Beyond your perceived limitations. The experiences we remember the most are the ones that are the most sensual: whether that be pain or pleasure. Tantra is using the physical body to experience life. The class will stretch your senses to discover the power that lies within your heart.

2 pm to 4 pm - Global Prayer for Peace yoga class w/ Micheline Berry, Kerri Kelly, MC Yogi and Amanda. With Musical guests – Todd Boston, Donna De Lory, Karsh Kale, Desert Dwellers and more.

9 am to 10:30 am - Equinox Adoration Celebration & Sublime Self-Honoring Anusara class with KK Ledford. Music by Amani Friend of Desert Dwellers.

We will spend time in this all levels class focusing on adoring the sublime within and steeping in the honey of our hearts in honor of Autumnal Equinox. With deep hip openers, delicious forward bends, and juicy twists we will bow to and honor the infinite beauty, or sri, that is embedded within each of us. With intention and balanced action we will release unconscious holding patterns in the hips and back-body that often cause pain and block us from full freedom and balance, and unveil the creative consciousness hidden inside.

11 am to 12:30 pm - One Breath - Prana Flow Yoga, Movement Meditation and Ecstatic Chant for the Global Mala Project and Yoga Energy Activism with Shiva Rea, Fannah-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali, Shaman's Dream and DJ Dragonfly

Dance Ethnologist and International Yoga Teacher Shiva Rea explores our global movement history from our innate ability to dance to over 2,000 years of repression to the current world-wide revival of free-form movement and its positive impact on our creative potential for the future.

1 pm to 2:30 pm - Dansa Vinyasa: A Unique Blend of Vinyasa Flow Yoga, West African Dance and Live Music with Debbie Steingesser and Live African Music from Ben Isaacs and Craig Miller of Rhythm Village

Dansa Vinyasa creatively weaves basic West African dance movements into an uplifting Vinyasa sequence accompanied by the sweet, rhythmic sounds of live Djembe drumming, Balafone, Ngoni, Kora, and Flute. Come explore the relationship between the celebratory dances of West Africa and the roots of Hatha Yoga Philosophy. You'll dance, breathe, sweat, laugh, and experience joy in its purest form.
