YOSSI FINEYOSSI FINE

Producer, bassist, and arranger Yossi Fine was born in Paris to a West Indian singer and an Israeli guitar player. Following in his father's footsteps, Fine began playing guitar at the tender age of four. By the time he was sixteen, he was playing professionally with some of Israel's leading musicians. During the course of his distinguished and eclectic career, he has played with such musical giants as Lou Reed, David Bowie, Gil Evans, Stanley Jordan, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Korn. In the 1980's Fine moved to New York where he joined Lou Reed's band which opened for U2 on the Joshua Tree tour and soon thereafter began his long collaboration with Stanley Jordan, with whom he toured the US, Europe, South America, and the Far East. Fine's composition “Always Know” from Jordan's Cornucopia was nominated for a Grammy for Best Instrumental Composition. In 1995 Fine returned to Israel and was asked soon after by Brian Eno and David Bowie to play on Bowie's Outside. He also worked prolifically as a record producer for leading Israeli musicians.
