| STS9 STS9 combines varied musical influences, genius live instrumentation and the latest in music technology. As “Electronic Musician” described, STS9s music is an eclectic stew of electro-acoustic pop, funk, drum n bass, hip-hop, ambient, dub and, and more integrates rhythm-section instruments with samplers, drum machines and soft synths. This unique blend of musical angles has earned the band and its music numerous features on television and radio. The band has played hundreds of shows including appearances at the biggest festivals in America including Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. The press accolades have been countless for STS9. XLR8R proclaimed "...this unique collection of artists and musicians has become one of the country's most intriguing, innovative outfits around. Remix Magazine announced “This band is making electronic music relevant again, and people from all over the musical map are taking notice”. STS9 continues to push the boundaries of innovation, both musically and socially. Not only do they focus on presenting an amazing live show, but they also work to create an environment where folks can stop and think about how all of our lives might be made better. “When people get together and share ideas,” says guitarist Hunter Brown, “they come up with something bigger than themselves as individuals.” As a band who “walks their talk”, STS9 has donated generously to over a dozen organizations, including Rock Against Cancer, the Yellow Ribbon Fund, Global Education Fund, and the Make It Right Foundation in New Orleans. They’ve also supported such independent media sources as Democracy Now! and the Haiti Information Project. Their new album “Peaceblaster” has received critical acclaim and has been regarded as their best studio effort to date. Ultimately, STS9 knows that they are just a band, playing songs. No more, no less. But they also understand music’s power as a cultural force. “We’re just trying to get inspired and to get people inspired,” Brown says. “That’s what music is: a never-ending conversation between strangers. We need this conversation to help us understand the world and our place in it. Artist Website: www.sts9.com |
